Georgia State Higher Education Agency: Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission

The Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) was established by legislation enacted in 1990. The primary purpose for GNPEC is to ensure each authorized college or school is educationally sound and financially stable. Specifically, GNPEC works to 1) assure prospective and enrolled students that the program of study and supporting elements of the institutions meet minimum standards, 2) assure prospective employers that institutions have been vetted for providing graduates with appropriate job skills, 3) assure the general public, federal agencies, and other state agencies that programs meet minimum standards.

Standard Three: Faculty

The education, experience, responsibilities and performance of the faculty ensure that students will receive an education consistent with the objectives of the course(s) or program(s) of study. (Faculty includes instructional staff, librarians, counselors, and others who provide program services to students. Faculty functions include approval of academic policies, program planning and evaluation, academic advisement, consulting with students on assignments and related intellectual matters, instruction and evaluation of student work).

  • The institution notifies NPEC of any unusual turnover of faculty or staff within thirty (30) days.

Standard Four: Physical facilities

The institution provides adequate and appropriate space, equipment and instructional materials to ensure a quality educational experience for students.

  • Making sure facilities have enough programs offered
  • The equipment, buildings, and grounds are maintained
  • Ensuring that you have non-in structural areas example bathroom, maintenance, and storage
  • The facility has security on the campus like fire protect or traffic control
